We try to make them look prettier with jewelry, enhance their function with aids, clean them, some even shave them but what are we thinking today about the lobby twins on our faces?

Funny you should ask, I am currently battling a stubborn infection in my right ear that also has a perforated ear drum. I have prescriptions for it that I can't afford to fill and will need a surgery that I can't afford to have. Our for profit healthcare system really sucks.

I'm far from sure what state my ears are in. I pick up certain noises I wish I hadn't - and sometimes it takes a few seconds to decipher - by which time others have changed the subject - raced on to something else.
But the advantage is - being assumed to be half-deaf and/or dim-witted - I can use 'selective hearing' - ie record or ignore whatever I choose or wish to.
Most now know I'm better addressed to by letter or e-mail - putting it in black & white - so that I can refer back, days, weeks, months later.
Sadly - many utter rash words 'in the moment' - and then deny they ever said such a thing - claiming I must have mis-heard or mis-understood.
As if.
: ))
PS - as a male - earrings don't become me - and I can't afford the currently recommended hearing-aids.

My ears are one part of my body I've never paid attention to. They are hidden under my hair and I've never worn earrings in my life. My grandson had Spock ears when he was born, the kind with a point on the tip and they were cute, but now they look perfectly normal. I think some men, like President Obama, look kind of cute with the ears that stick out. My hearing is fine, my husband can't hear very well, so we do the closed captioned thing on all programs that aren't live. When you have closed captions on live programs, they are usually terrible!

Ha! I have pierced ears. Don't wear earrings any more. I have tinnitus two distinct sounds all the time. I have hearing aids. Have suffered labyrinth concussions along with coupe counter coupe and have vertigo. I have had ENG and all the other inner ear tests etc. even that spinning chair one. I hate my ears. Hearing tests, eply maneuvers , drugs you name it. Still same old same old.

I have narrow ear canals that make wax removal challenging. I once pursued candle therapy but ran into a dead end when the clerk at the "natural" store didn't know what I was talking about.
Anyone know if this works?

There is an ad which runs often in our papers, guess it's for a hearing aid, which says "Do You Hear But Don't Understand?"
Describes me perfectly. I can hear every word you say, just don't understand them. Closed Captions are always up on my TV. They are usually accurate, but sometimes I think the one making the captions hears but doesn't understand. Sometimes they are so far off. My favorite - "Here she is, Mart Ta Stewed Art."

I have tinnitus that drives me batty if it's too quiet...which is why I have to have either my TV or music playing in the background at all times. It's a side effect of listening to too many live bands without earplugs in my youth.

I can't wear earrings. I have three holes in one ear and two in the other and all in all only one works. The rest are closed. I'm thinking that I want to reopen at least one on the other side of the one that works. My ears are sensitive to foreign objects, so I have had to always put alcohol on them when I did wear earrings. I do miss wearing them.

Tinnitus in both ears. My younger brother thinks he is the only person with it.

I have tinnitus, but my doctor said it was normal. It isn't normal to me. Know the cure for this? I know doctors have free samples (used to work for them), and they throw them out when they get old, so we SHOULD ask for them.

The stop my glasses falling off my face. As far as hearing is concerned, they don't work as well as they used to.
