How many times have you wished for something that it turns out was best that you didn't get it?

Someone once defined God to me.

It goes 'When you really desperately need something and you pray, God is the one that ignores you!'.

Wishes are much the same. I have never got anything I wished for, but I have got plenty I didn't want.

I have been wishing for one particular thing for 10 years now, but Peter bloody Andre STILL hasn't been hit by a train.

Damn! Damn! Damn!

Yes, a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. There are rules to wishing, just like there are rules for everything else. Wishing for the wrong thing is so dangerous that you should have to have a license like you do to have a gun or drive. Maybe a prescription from your doctor also. I had a bush in my yard. A bush in the white house is bad enough, but in your yard? Any way I wished it to death. It's demise made me so happy that it felt the positive vibs, must have mistakenly sensed that I loved it and came back to life so now I have this beautiful little holy tree. You see how complicated the process is. You just have to know what you are doing or you don't know what may happen. It now has an important place in my heart and I almost missed all the drama. Why I just backed into it again today.

Gee Wick, that was a rather sad story. I couldn't begin to count the times I had to come to the realization that something I had wished for and didn't get was a blessing in disguise. Of course, I had to grow up some before I realized it. Nowadays I'm a lot more careful about what I wish for.

Did you read the link at the bottom about the Molasses Disaster?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Molasses_Disaster

21 people died in that one.

It sounds kinda funny when you think about it--'people & horses stuck to the ground like flies on flypaper'.

To me, drowning by beer would be insult added to injury - I don't like the stuff. And it reminds me of the chapter in A Tale of Two Cities when the wine spilled in the streets and all the peasants were trying to get to it with cups and makeshift mugs, lol, I guess they enjoyed that, though.

It used to wait a day before asking for BA, now it's about a hour, as you noted. It still 24 hours before they send a reminder in your email, though.

Well, I pray a lot and don;t get nothin either. They say father knows best. Is this your way of telling us ya wanna beer. Wick that happy hour is 5p.m. not 5.a.m. He He. I am going to go hit the sack. I sleep better at this time of day. Hope I don't dream of beer drowings. That sounds awful. Can you imagine people running. Oh the drunk animals . Have a good day.

Worse than that was when molasses storage tank ruptured and molasses poured down the streets of Boston on January 15, 1919 killing 21 people and injuring 150. They say on a hot day the area still has a faint smell of molasses.

Have you ever heard the song "Unanswered Prayers" by Garth Brooks?

Yes, you should be careful what you wish for...sometimes the price you pay can be devastating.

Too much of a "good" thing can be not so good either. Read J's link to the "Molasses" incident. I'd rather drown in beer than smother to death in gooey molasses. Yuck!!

Just ignore those prompts. Choose when you are ready.

Oh yes, experience has taught me to be very careful when wishing for something!

@ Matthew, Who the hell is Peter bloody Andre, and please excuse my ignorance.
