I don't own a hat, and I never see any woman wearing hats.

The only hats I ever see, and now not all that many, are the

baseball caps. And they are losing their popularity also. The

last time I saw women wearing hats, was when I went to

church in my teens. Since then I haven't seen women even

wear them to church. People have become more casually

dressed for going to church. Feeling that God doesn't judge

them by what they wear, but what is in their hearts!

haven't been to a wedding or funeral in many years so I don't know what's proper. However if it was a church wedding I'd wear a small hat. If it was a fancy social type outdoor wedding I'd wear a hat. If it was my husband who passed I'd wear a small hat to the church and cemetery.

I would wear a hat (or a hoodie to keep warm for anything under 65 degrees and depending on if it was windy or not).

I have hoodies and winter cap type hats, also have one hat with a wide brim. If I needed one for the occasion I wouldn't think twice about going out and buying one.

I have around 75 hats. Some are new, some I bought at vintage clothing shops or antique stores, and others have been given to me because people know I love hats. I wear them to church, and sometimes to funerals, but I'm very subdued with that because I don't want anyone to think I just see it as a fashion occasion........ Sometimes I have tea parties and all my guests can either wear their own hats or they come into my "hat" room and try on mine! We take pictures and everyone has a lot of fun. I've also done a couple of professional tea parties for others and I take my hats - the ladies suddenly become little girls playing dress up.

I have a black western hat with a beaded feather, and I wear it when I feel like wearing a hat. I also have a NY Yankees baseball cap, and I wear that sometimes. And I have an "Indiana Jones" Banana Republic hat that I wear on occasion. Plus a couple more, but not the "going to church " type of hat. Never. Oh yes and a red fedora that I wear to Red Hat meetings when I do programs for them.

When its freezing cold I wear either ear muffs or a hat under the hood of my winter parka.

My daughter got me a nice Tilley Winter hat for Christmas and I wear that to work during the winter on days we're going to be in the cemetery for a burial. It can get terribly cold when you're standing there for 20-30 mins and your head isn't covered. It seems if you can keep your head and your feet warm, you don't feel the cold as much in the in between parts.

Haven't worn a hat to church since I was about 15.

In the summer I wear a straw hat or a viser when I'm outside in the sun

I don't have any dress hats, but I have a few "newsboy" style hats that I wear sometimes. A couple of them were gifts from a friend. One is plaid with small pink stripes in the pattern. I mostly wear hats when it is cold and I haven't felt like styling my hair.

I love the old-fashioned hats ladies wear to church. I like the "pillbox" style with the small veil, and the ones that have flowers or little birds. I think it would look odd if I wore hats like that, though- they do seem to be out of fashion, and I wouldn't know what to wear with them. I wish that someone would bring them back into style.

I wear straw hats in the summer when I'm spending time outside because I sunburn easily. Prefer the hats too using sticky, icky sunscreen all the time. In the winter I wear warm knitted hats or big furry hats to keep my head warm when I'm out walking my dogs in the cold wind. I don't have any pretty hats to wear for dress-up occasions. Think I will start looking at them now.

I almost never wear hats... funny though that I have one on in my avatar. I wear them for sun protection like when I float the river, or am outside gardening, or if we are going on a hike, or if it is snowing or raining but for these last 2 a hood works just fine. I wear visers also, just to keep the sun out of my eyes. My daughter is a hat person and wears them all the time.

Don't do hats. Just never pulled them off well. There was one time, ions ago, when they were trying revive hats here....it was one of those big hats that they wore during the time of bustles and parasols and buggies and all.....the veil and all that....now that one looked great....but where do you wear something like that? I didn't get it of course, but it was the only one that ever really looked good. I always felt like I was a kid playing dress-up or something and never felt comfortable with one. Trying to wear one on a bad hair day....I looked like a person with a bad hair day, wearing a bad hat. LOL

I have two hats, for winter when its really cold and I have to be outside.

I love dressy hats, men and women that wear them look so together and right. And I have no idea why I don't wear a hat on those occasions.

I haven't worn a hat for a dressy occasion in many years; although I have a couple of friends who still wear hats when they are dressed for Church or other functions. I think they look glorious in their 'fancy hats'.

I do wear hats for practical reasons; usually weather related. I have a small wool felt fedora that I've worn when I've been "up north" and it is snowing. I have two rain hats, one black and ok with business clothes and one khaki that is casual.

Most of my hats are for sun-protection. I have one Tilley and two Boonies. I most often wear straw/grass woven hats with brims, I have 8 or 9 of them.

I belong to two Red Hat Society chapters. We wear hats to our events. I alao wear a hat hiking or walking in the sun. I have 6 hats.

I have 4 hats.....all the same style in different colors. Some people call them "cowboy" hats but they are really plantation hats. I LOVE them, they look good - and, they hide a multitude of sins......

I wear them with my casual clothes, jeans, slacks, etc. For dressy occasions, I go without a hat.

I just love hats! I have about 30 or more baseball caps of every color and I like wearing them sometimes. I also have some girly looking hats (not dressy) that I wear. Don't wear them as much now that I got my hair cut short but still wear them.

Here in Australia young and old, male and female we wear hats for the sun. The only times I see dressy hats worn in Australia is on Melbourne cup day.

I have several hats but I doubt if I will ever wear another one again. During chemo I wore a hat almost every day for months on end. They are now a reminder of that unpleasant period. No more hats and no more wigs for me!

I wear hats when the occasion calls for them. I have a few. We used to take a family hat picture every year. Everyone had to buy a new hat for the picture. Thanks for the memory.

I wear winter hats to stay warm when I'm outside. And sunhats when I'm working in my garden or at the beach. Don't bother with them for social occasions. Hats are no longer "in".
2008-03-05 20:28:31 UTC
I have worn hats in weddings, but I mostly have them for winter weather or in the summer at the beach or when I go for my walks. I ordered one of those hats that the women with bobs wore in the 1930s. I like hats.

the only time i wear a hat is when I'm shoveling snow is when the temp. is very cold and then with the wind, causing it to be extremely cold then. hats are not for me they mess up your hair . also i used to wear a helmet when on the Harley, only when it's raining, and then when i took the helmet off, i looked like don king on a very bad day, if you can imagine that

sorry to disappoint you but I do not go to church, and I have not worn any kind of a hat in about 55 yrs.Even in the dead of our New England winters I never wear a hat. Now that I am retired, I either stay home if its bad out or I go out but never with a hat. ps. I thought dress hats went out in the 60's.

No hats - too hot and it would mess up my hair.

I have an aversion for hat head.

I would be OK with having antenna.\ /
