They weren't a group, but the Everly Brothers were my abso-

lute favorites for duos'. They harmonized perfect and they

were easy to sing along with. Which I did alot of. I think Don

was the shorter younger one. And he was my favorite. After

seeing him in concert on TV recently, he hardly looks like his

former self. And their voices are not as good as when they

were young, but they still harmonize well, and the fans still go

crazy over them.

The Beatles were not even on the list of my favorite groups...

When I was young I use to skip rope to some of their music and play patty cake to others....I do remember dancing

forever to "Hey Jude"

My favorite group, I could never pick one.Or pick a favorite member of the group..

The 60s rocked, with plenty of soul..... this is a taste of the incredible music of the 60s

The Rolling Stones

The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Mavelettes

Supermes

Fleetwood Mac

Smokey and The Miracles

The Doors

Janis Joplin & The Holding Company

The Grateful Dead

I even liked The Mama and the Papa's

Edit: and...noonecan...How could I forget "Led Zeppelin!!" Loved them. Love them now!!

I love music. It's pretty hard to pick just one group and one person.

Elvis Presley

Buddy Holly

The Mamas & the Papas

The Beach Boys

The Bee Gees

The Rolling Stones

Roy Orbison

The Drifters

Simon and Garfunkel

Fleetwood Mac

Just a few, but many more. 50's really fit my era best. I graduated, dated and married in the 50's.

Fun. Now playing Roy Orbison's, Only the Lonely on Windows Media Player.

I liked Dion and the Belmonts a lot ... especially on the song "Where or When".

Smokey Robinson and the Miracles

Diana Ross and the Supremes

Martha Reeves and the Vandellas

ALL the Motown groups (and the Funk Brothers who were really responsible for the Motown sound) - There's a great Documentary on them called "In the Shadows"

The Shirelles

I loved every group that was connected to the Motown label but my favorites were The Jackson Five. When they made their debut on the "Ed Sullivan Show" singing "I Want You Back", well I just knew, at the age of thirteen, I was watching my future husband singing and playing the guitar...Jermaine Jackson...until I flipped over another singing, guitar playing, OLDER man and his group, Sly and The Family Stone! LOL!!

Since I was a dancing fool - in the late sixties I loved

(and still love)

Credence Clearwater Revival, Sly and the Family Stone

I also loved the early Bee Gees.

No favorites within the groups.

I'm glad I can put the Beatles aside,as I didn't like them.

If you just want the Brit sound, then the Stones,Hollies.

I still preferred those that remained from the 50's R&R era.

Probably the Animals and Eric Burdon, but there are several other really good groups from that era.

Technically not a group, Simon and Garfunkel are one of the best match-ups, and I lean toward Art Garfunkel.

The Beatles were not my favorite group. At the time I was into rhythm 'n blues big time, and jazz too.

I'm really not that familiar with music groups of that era but I love BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER by Simon and Garfunkel. Elvis Presley also recorded it and I love it equally by him. Mom has both versions on different LP albums and I have recorded both on CDs off line.

For me, the 60's WERE The Monkees.

In solo singers, it had to be Neil Diamond. Saw him in concert about 6 years ago and he still did a great show.

Hello,

Jethro Tull.

They had a new, innovative type of music and I loved the flute work as well as the abstract lyrics on social change, class hypocrisy etc.

Ian Anderson, their front man who did the flute and vocals.

Cheers,

Led Zeppelin. In 1969 who needed a reason? My favorite was Robert Plant, and he still is. Good music passes through the generations.

Edit: OMG.... how could I leave out The Doors?! Thanks Abuelama! Jim Morrison, the lizard king. ***** yeah!
