I work in an assisted living residence and I work on July 25th and would like to do some kind of a Christmas in July celebration. The residents vary quite a bit in their abilities, so I am looking for very simple ideas. I'm running the video Lawrence Welk's Christmas, (they just LOVE watching that Larry!), but i'd like to do a little something extra. I've been racking my brain, but coming up empty. Any simple ideas?????

Decorate a Christmas tree red, white, and blue and have a picnic....sing patriotic songs....watch old Andy Griffith shows, I liked the one where they were going to have a parade and were going to decorate the bandstand...you can't get any more down home feeling then Andy.

I worked in Yellowstone Park a hundred years ago and we always had a Christmas on July 4th! "Once at home, and another up here!" We decorated and had a drawing for gift exchange among the employees. The point was based on our college-age peers and the friendships we'd formed in working with diverse people. I remember the enthusiasm was garnered during the week before "the big day"! I think that the expectations for a party and get-together over-shadowed any Christmas memories (good or bad) we might have had. I think you should keep it simple. Maybe a talent show or a call for memories of "an unforgettable Christmas" The thing is to get them out of the past and start interacting with one another. There, but for the grace of God, go I.

I think the first poster's has some good ideas. We always celebrate christmas in july at the campground. I would suggest small small gift for each one, can yu hang some small lights in the sitting room and maybe some christmas cut-outs on the walls or windows? ai think they will really get a kick out of that and playing Santa's bingo.

I have helped with Christmas in July at nursing homes. We would have a small tree, get each patient a present (something they can use), have cookies & punch, sing Christmas Carols. Pretty much like it was December rather than July. They enjoyed it.

I even have relaxing Christmas as a social amassing of Jesus Christ's commencing up. we've relaxing it on the twenty 5th December for quite distinctive reasons regardless of if Christians do understand that it may not be the specific day of his commencing up! Christmas way Christ Mass, and the abbreviated of yuletide keeps to be to be a Christian variety through fact the X is the known letter of Christ in the Greek language. in case you think approximately Christmas is in simple terms too commercialized all you ought to do is have relaxing the day in a sensible technique and now not grow to be a member of in all the greater that Christmas now brings. God bless you
