I wonder if referring to the government of China as a conspiracy for censorship puts an answer into the insulting category when a person does their reporting. At first I called China stupid & then I corrected myself in print. I was only attempting to keep my edits REAL.

Yes, I've appealed & I'm awaiting a reply from YA.
I'm still asking....
What qualifies a Q or A to be deemed an insulting rant?

In reality just about anyone here can claim a question to be insulting and a rant only because they can. I have never been successful in appealing a question or an answer being reported in violation and subsequently being deleted. There are people who will report anyone simply because they either do not like the person who is asking a question or the person who answered a question.

I think if somebody reports you and says in the space provided that its an insulting rant, then they treat it as such. If they say it is a derogatory comment regarding a specific race or gender, then that's the way they treat that as well.

Nothing is carved in stone. Get second account, and report your own answer as an insulting rant and see what happens, see if you get a violation.

Hi, Dee, good to see you. Good luck with your appeal, but don't hold your breath. Personally, I don't think anything should be reported, but apparently anything can be considered an insult or a rant to some people with thin skins!

I try to stay away from insulting countries. Now one of my answers was reported because I insulted the section this member was a major contributer. The question was trolling and derogatory towards seniors.

I want to keep this section clean and enjoyable. The heat is on,the cats are sleeping. This is the environment I want to see here.Oh yes, wine and ginger ale are in the refrigerator as well.

According to the dictionary....rant is to talk in a loud, wild, extravagant way...rave. Usually when you see something that qualifies as a "rant" under the guidelines....it is one of those weird...all caps....loony things.

If what you are talking about actually was a violation....then nearly the entire R&S and politic sections would not exist....as 99 percent of the questions and answers would be in violation.

Good luck Dee. The last time I appealed Yahoo sent me an e-mail to copy and paste my information and send it to Tim Buck Tu, and yadda yadda ya. Then the next day, yesterday, they sent me a letter describing a few things I'm allowed to say in Y!A and a bunch of things I'm not allowed to say. So, I would say we Senior Citizens are definitely being targeted.

in case you incredibly wanted to stretch the definitions, you are able to desire to evaluate your answer "insulting" or "ranting" in that it did no longer answer the asker's question. truthfully, "violence", as you will see that on the document exhibit, is an "unlawful" words of provider violation--a extra egregious cost than the two of the excuses you have been given. content textile pronounced as a ToS violation might desire to effect interior the suspension of your Y!A account, or maybe your total Yahoo! handle. considering the fact that all you have been dinged with is a lesser community rules violation, you ought to evaluate your self fortunate.

I ot reported for telling someone not to use viagara. Thats something you shouldn't have to use a stimulant for. If you do you have other problems that need to be addressed.

How can you get reported for telling someone the truth?

If someone reports it as a rant, it is a rant. Even if it is not. In my experience, appeals have never worked.

Probably most questions are insulting rants to someone, particularly those concerning race or religion.

Apparently, access to the "report" button is the only qualification necessary.

They must have been insulted but that doesn't make them any less a blind dictatorship.
