Who was your favorite Miss Marple?

Margaret Rutherford, Angela Lansbury, Helen Hayes, Gracie Fields, Joan Hickson and Geraldine McEwan have all played the role of Agatha Christie's sleuth, Miss Jane Marple. Who was your favorite and why?

Joan Hickson...gentle manners and typically English and most of all a good listener. I liked Margaret Rutherford but she was more like a battleship under full sail. I live in the English Cotswolds and still see many Mrs Marple look a likes around the local villages.

Both Joan Hickson she looked and behaved like I expected Miss Marple to be, and Margaret Rutherford with her sidekick was really funny sometimes, like in Murder at the Gallop.

I thought that Helen Hayes had that sweet old lady demeanor in public, but secretly very sharp. Thought Margaret Rutherford was just awful. Geraldine McEwan has worked out pretty well. I like her hats!

Margaret Rutherford was very impressive. I love her movies, "Murder Most Foul" and "Murder at the Gallop".
